ED Reorganization and Regulation Reforms - 105 education regulations are currently under review, including those for IDEA Part B and Part C. Deadline for submitting comments is September 20th. You can submit comments here. https://www.regulations.gov/docket?D=ED-2017-OS-0074

FY 2018 Budget - congress has until September 30th, 2017 to determine education spending levels. While a partial government shutdown could affect responses to requests for support from USED, special education services would be minimally impacted because states have already received some of the 2017-2018 IDEA grant money.

Healthcare - Congress may once again consider reshaping Medicaid into a block grant program. Medicaid funding provides about $2B in funding to school annually. Also in the mix is the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) scheduled to end September 30th, 2017.
