Transition: Planning for High School and Beyond with Kelly Orginski

Michigan Alliance-PTI in Oakland County is offering a free workshop Tuesday, February 2, 2016 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm at Oakland County Executive Office Building Conference Center, (Building 41 West - East Oakland Room), 2100 Pontiac Lake Road, Waterford, MI 48328. (Sign-in starts at 9:00 am) A light lunch will be served.

This workshop is for families of students with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) and the team members who work with them. We will provide you with information, resource s and tools to start planning now for the future. This workshop will provide basic information for parents to help young adults plan for a successful transition to adulthood, including rights and responsibilities. Learn how high school classes and the school environment can help develop important skills and build pre-employment knowledge. Who should attend: Families of middle school and high school aged students with a disability/ learning challenges, school staff, community members, and organizations.
