New Opportunities in Tomorrow’s Workplace! Working Toward Competitive Employment for People with Disabilities Presented by Randy Lewis, father of a son with Autism, Author, Retired Senior VP of Walgreens, Visionary of Disability Employment Advocacy *With introduction and welcome by MI Supreme Court Justice Richard Bernstein* Today, people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) can have quality employment opportunities, but they have to be ready when given the chance to show their skills. Randy Lewis, a former Senior Vice President of Walgreens and the father of a son with autism, helped change the employment practices of a major corporation to strategically employ individuals with disabilities in competitive employment positions. Randy will discuss barriers people with IDD face in the workplace, as well as ways to overcome those barriers and gain quality employment. This event is designed for individuals with IDD/Autism, parents & caregivers of individuals with IDD/Autism, as well as agency representatives, educators, & anyone interested in learning about this topic.
